Manuel is a team player, highlighting perseverance, loyalty, order and respect. He has a high value for friendship and enjoys nature and classical music. After being a prominent amateur athlete in tennis, golf and swimming in his youth, he currently practices walking and golf.
Manuel has worked instinctively as a business owner, attorney, public servant and legislator.
Among other positions, Manuel served as General Manager of the National Chamber of Naval Industry, General Manager of Banco de Crédito Rural Pacífico Norte, S.N.C. (Sinaloa, Baja California Sur, Nayarit), Director of public bodies such as Distribuidora Conasupo (DICONSA) Nacional Financiera (NAFIN), Private Secretary of the Undersecretary of Planning and Budget Control, Administrative Coordinator of the Office of the Secretary of Finance and Public Credit, Delegate from federal agencies in the State of Sinaloa such as the Secretary of Commerce and Industrial Development and the Institute of Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE), Private Secretary of the PRI Candidate for the Presidency of the Republic (2000-2006). In the legislative area, he served as Federal Deputy in the LVII (PRI), LX (Nueva Alianza) Legislatures, Local Deputy in Sinaloa (Nueva Alianza) LX Legislature and as a Senator without militancy in the LXIII Legislature (during all his tenures as legislator Manuel participated in the economic, justice, trade and foreign relations commissions, among others). He is a commentator, analyst and columnist in various print and radio media, and lecturer and was President of the University Social Comptroller of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (2011-2013).
Manuel is currently an advisor or partner of various companies, legal attorney, industrial partner and Legal Director of Grupo Valdez Gastelum Consultores, which specializes in financial and tax planning.
